PhD Life at KUMED

The thought of doing PhDs are hard. They are incredibly fulfilling, but mentally challenging and emotionally draining. You meet some amazing people along the journey, but also have to deal with some difficult people and difficult situations. The following are a few thoughts of my experience. They are based on being involved in the research.
I’m writing this not so much to offer advice, but more in the hope that others read it and see similarities with their own experience.
- Good mentors make a huge difference and The peer review process can be LONG.
- Although doing a few extra projects is good, but don’t do too many.
- Try not to compare yourself to others too much.
- It’s okay to feel overwhelmed.
- Finally, Good research is important, but so is working hard and being nice to people.
